FAQS
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
The dress code is formal with a nod to Film Noir. Think 1940s Old Hollywood glamour meets speakeasy mischief. We love sharp, we love bold, we love drama and timeless elegance. Feel your best, express yourself fully, and be as playful as you want to be!
But can I wear white?
Nope.
Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
Both will take place at The Palace Theater (644 Broadway, San Francisco). We'll have a short 20 minute ceremony before diving straight into the reception—it's all happening in one spot, so no shuttling between locations.
What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 6:00 PM. We'd love for you to be there from the very start to see us tie the knot, so arriving on time at 6PM means you won't miss a thing!
How do I get to the wedding venue? Where should I park?
The Palace Theater doesn't have its own parking lot, but you've got options! There are several nearby parking garages within 5 minute walk, such as: Joe's Auto Parks. We strongly suggest using: Spot Hero
You can also take public transit—Muni buses #8, #12, #30, #39, and #45 stop nearby, or take BART to Montgomery Station and it's about a 15-minute walk or quick rideshare from there.
Rideshare is always a solid choice, or if you're staying at a hotel within walking distance, even better!
When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Please RSVP by May 15th. Online is easiest—just head to the RSVP page and let us know if you'll be joining us!
Can I bring a plus-one?
We'd love to celebrate with everyone, but space is limited. The number of seats reserved for you is indicated on your invitation. If you have questions about your specific invitation, reach out to us directly!
What if I won't know until the last minute if I can make it?
Our venue has a very strict headcount system and we need to provide a guest list well in advance. As much as we'd love to be flexible, we have to be strict on this. Please only RSVP "yes" if you can absolutely make it!
Are children invited?
We love little ones, but this event is adults only. We hope this gives you a chance to enjoy a night out and let loose on the dance floor with us! We will be hosting a post-wedding brunch on Sunday, November 8th for our friends and family with children. We'll be reaching out individually with details.
Will there be food and drinks?
Absolutely! We've got an open bar upon arrival and a full dinner following the ceremony. Come thirsty, leave happy and full.
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
We are happy to accommodate! Please let us know your dietary restrictions when you RSVP so we can make sure everyone's well-fed.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes! The Palace Theater is fully accessible with an elevator, ramps, and accessible restrooms. If you’d like to make an accessibility plan, we will happily connect you with our event coordinator.
Where are you registered?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! We're so grateful to celebrate this day with the people we love most. If you'd like to give a gift, we've set up a few options: a honeymoon fund to support our adventure to Tanzania and Zanzibar, gift cards for home projects, and a small selection of items from our wishlists. You can find our registry here: Shakara & Jason
